Biography:
The R&B queen of the streets has been singing her heart out since the age of four year’s old. Cri-Shounda comes from a family of talented vocalists. She was a soloist in the Tupper Memorial Church located in Raleigh, NC. Blessed with the ability to sing Cri-Shounda also writes all of her own material. She has performed at different venues across the city which include the Crabtree Valley Mall and the Brewery. In 2002 she met Label owner and Producer Sun-Mu of Lifeline Team Music Group through a mutual friend. After hearing her sing, Sun-Mu immediately setup a studio session so that Cri-Shounda could start recording her first album “My side of the story”. In 2003 Cri-Shounda released her first album “My side of the story” on the internet . The album received great reviews and Cri-Shounda was able to build a strong fan base in the states and across seas.

With the success of her first release Cri-Shounda began to gain a lot of notoriety on the internet. It seems that fans wanted more as they started to build their own websites about Cri-Shounda. Never the one to disappoint the fans Cri-Shounda and Sun-Mu went back into the studio and started recording her second debut “Street Soul Vol. 1” which was released in 2005. With this new album, Cri-Shounda would be sure to please her fans. Learning from her first experience in the studio she now knew how the process worked. Her writing had become better and she had stepped up her vocal game. This album was different, it was more involved as she realized what was taking place in the studio. It was “Hood R&B at it’s best. Song’s such as “What I Gotta Do”,“ Bring Me Down and ”Creepin” reminded you that this is truly official music. The result of all the hard work Cri-Shounda had put in was more popularity and a bigger fan base online.

Over the period of the next two years (2005-2007) Cri-Shounda worked diligently on her next album which is titled “Hood Hottie” (It is what it is) . The album will be released in Feb, 2008. Wanting to give her fans a little something different this time around, she decided to include a free DVD. Her lead single “Hand’s in the air” let’s you know she’s still the R&B queen of the streets.
